A Memory

We were always out of breath because we'd run away from the other children, and then, would crouch down behind the tractor to hide in the night. I remember you told me secrets there, like how you'd never seen the ocean. In those moments we'd talk as crudely as we'd colour in books, with our hopes and dreams spilling carelessly out of our mouths till nothing mattered anymore but our voices in the dark.
